"The
Sandhills area is a great spot for winter training," according to
Captain Mark Phillips, USET 3 Day Coach and Olympic Gold Medalist, who
spends considerable time in the area training 1996 Olympic hopefuls. "The
sandy soil and mild climate are ideal for winter training," according
to Phillips.
Many
United States and Canadian Team riders winter in the Sandhills area and
the Yellow Frame Farm is the possible training site for the USET, just
prior to the Atlanta Games in 1996.
