The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) has identified four initial health areas to be addressed. These include breast cancer, heart disease, immunization and automobile injuries in Moore County.
The Rev. Dr. Hal Hyde, Chairperson, says, "It is exciting and challenging to be a part of a group promoting preventive healthcare services and a healthier lifestyle for the people of the Sandhills. It says a lot about the people of the community when they are willing to work together to help provide assessable, quality healthcare. By concentrating our efforts on the areas of immunization of children, automobile accidents, breast cancer and heart disease, we are able to develop programs that will make a difference." Lisa Hartsock, Facilitator, says, "The goal of MooreHealth is to assist our residents in living healthier lifestyles. We provide a mechanism for innovative, cost effective and challenging approaches for a healthier tomorrow. MooreHealth is an out-growth of the Moore for Tomorrow strategic plan written by the Sandhills Chamber of Commerce. For us to succeed, we need committed volunteers from organizations, associations and the community who want to make Moore a healthier and safer county to live in."
